Finally...Freaks & Geeks on DVD!

Since NBC foolishly cancelled Freaks & Geeks - the best TV show ever - in the spring of 2000, fans have been pushing the show's producers to release the series on DVD. Due to expensive music licensing issues and distribution complications, the project has been in limbo for the past couple of years. Not anymore! The good folks at Shout! Factory and Dreamworks Television have finally announced April 6, 2004 as the official release date. Read the press release here.

Here's the dilly-o: There will be 2 versions of the set released. "The Complete Series" 6-DVD set sold in stores will consist of all 18 episodes, a 28-page collectable booklet and 40+ hours of bonus material (including audio commentaries by the entire cast) - at a retail price of $69.98 (see orange box above). Not bad.

True die hards, however, will want to spring for "The Deluxe Collector's Edition" 8-disc set. For the uh, measly? price of $120, you'll get everything in the 6-disc set, PLUS an expanded 80-page booklet, and 2 more discs packed with extras - all encased in a foil-stamped F&G yearbook (see green box above). You can buy the deluxe edition only NOW at freaksandgeeksdvd.com!
