Blue-Eyed Soul Resurgence?

If you know me, chances are you know about my propensity for the godfather of blue-eyed soul - the one, the only, Mr. Michael McDonald. If not, you can catch up by reading my published ode.

Well, it appears that a few new artists - namely Gavin DeGraw (Clive Davis' newest protege) and Thicke (Alan Thicke's familial protege) - are trying to bring that soulful McD sound back to the mainstream.

For the offspring of a semi-famous sitcom star, Thicke harbors some serious talent. He samples the 5th of Beethoven like no other, and if the public can just get past his poor man's Christ image, we may have a winner here.

The greater chance for success though lies with Gavin DeGraw. He's got the total package - voice, musical talent, looks & personality. Plus, looks! And with Clive Davis behind him, his career is off to a gosh darn good start.

So if you have a few moments, check 'em out. White musicians with R&B sounds always need your support!

The link to your published ode is broken. So disheartening. "What a Fool Believes" is one of my favorite songs to karaoke.
